Supporting local communities, respecting culture and heritage.
Heathgate supports the communities where we operate through donations, sponsorships, and local partnerships. We also work with Aboriginal communities to respect cultural heritage and strengthen participation.
Our approach is based on respect, long-term relationships, and shared outcomes.
Community support
We contribute to local events, education programs, and initiatives that support families, children, and people with disability. This includes community days and cultural events such as NAIDOC Week.
We support organisations including the Royal Flying Doctor Service, SACOME and AusIMM.
Aboriginal engagement
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands where we operate and explore, including:
- Adnyamathanha People (South Australian mine site)
- Dieri People (South Australian exploration)
- Pitta Pitta People and Yullana People (Queensland exploration)
Our commitment
Our Aboriginal Engagement Policy guides how we work, including cultural awareness, cultural heritage surveys, and pathways for employment and training. We focus on consistent action, open communication, and respect for cultural knowledge and significance.
Adnyamathanha Yarta
Our South Australian operations are located on Adnyamathanha Yarta (land). We value a strong relationship built on mutual respect and practical outcomes.
Our contribution
We partner with local businesses and suppliers across Australia. Heathgate has invested more than $2.5 billion in mine infrastructure to date. Along with royalties and taxes, this supports the economy at local, state, and federal levels.
