Policy statement

Heathgate is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate through donation to, or sponsorship of, community events, groups and programs.

Policy principles

Donation means a voluntary contribution or gift with no expectation of any type of return.

Sponsorship means a commercial arrangement whereby Heathgate provides a contribution for some form of mutual benefit.

Heathgate is committed to:

• Considering donations and sponsorships that deliver benefits to the communities in which we operate.
• Considering sponsorships that raise awareness of Heathgate Resources and our commitment to the environment.
• Making a positive, material contribution to community organisations, children or people with special needs, education programs, Aboriginal communities and culture.

Assessment criteria

• Heathgate will consider sponsorship applications and either approve or decline the submission at its sole discretion based on actual or potential benefits to both the community and Heathgate.
• A donation or sponsorship application may be declined where it may present an actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest.
• Reasonable evidence may be requested that the sponsorship applicant has the capacity to deliver the intended benefits.
• Heathgate will not support:
  • Any activity that encourages adverse lifestyle choices associated with gambling, smoking, alcohol or substance abuse.
  • Any activity that could cause damage to the environment.
  • Political campaigns or religious activities.
  • Any activity or initiative that may be perceived as divisive in the community.
• Previous approvals should not be regarded as approval of any future donation or sponsorship.

How to apply

• Applications may be submitted to Heathgate by email (community@heathgate.com.au) at least six weeks in advance of the funding requirement.
• Applications should include applicant contact details, a full description of the nature of the organisation and/or proposed activity, the reason for seeking the donation or sponsorship, details of the event or program, the amount sought, whether Heathgate has previously provided support, who the support will benefit and how, whether any media exposure (including social media) is planned and how this would be managed.
